Day Thirty Two – August 5th
Volunteering Day 10
Kim’s last day volunteering! We drove to work in the sun rise, which was pretty but bright to drive into! The older couple who are vollies too are having a couple of days off, so it’s just Kim, Kerri and me… basically just Kim and me working then. I only went in for the second feed, with Surprise, so I got some photos of Kim on her last day. No pelicans at all, which was a bit weird.
I went out for a kayak and left Kim sunbathing on the beach, after about 15 minutes I had seen a couple of dolphins, but then I could hear more dolphins! Not wanting to get too close and disturb them I just sat and floated. Then I was suddenly surrounded by about ten dolphins! Randomly out of nowhere Piccolo came up less than a metre from my kayak! I was so happy my heart was going so fast and I was squeeing to myself! (I don't care if that's sad!) I didn’t have any room left for a video on my camera so managed to snap some photos. (Below.)
I did get a little told off for going out too far, but I honestly didn't realise how far out I was and when I did I went back in. Saw some starfish on the way back and found Kim waving to me on the shore asking if I wanted an ice cream.
Back at our cabin Kim and I watched Spirited Away (one of my favourite films) before going to bed. No e-mailing or blogging tonight, too tired! And some of us have to get up at 6am to go to work...
